The Mersey Tobeatic Research Institute will be discussing the threat to our majestic foundation species Eastern hemlock, the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). HWA is an invasive species of insect identified in five counties in Nova Scotia (including Queens), and is an imminent threat to Lunenburg County.
Information about HWA's life cycle, its origins, what is being done to slow the spread and how to identify and report sightings will be presented, with an open discussion to follow.
Please join them at the Desbrisay Museum (130 Jubilee Road, Bridgewater, NS) on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
