Ernie's woodlands have been in family for six generations, with forest improvement ongoing since 1978. No herbicides or pesticides are used on properties. He has completed some pre-commercial thinning (PCT) of hardwoods, and plans to manually space and weed areas of white ash, sugar maple, and yellow birch over the next 5 years.
